Las Vegas is getting another moment on the big screen. Double Trouble, a new action-comedy filmed extensively in Southern Nevada, is preparing for its theatrical release on October 9, following a star-studded Los Angeles premiere and an upcoming hometown premiere at Brenden Theatres inside the Palms Casino Resort.

Originally developed under the title High Stakes Holiday, the film stars real-life sisters Madeleine McGraw, best known for her performance in The Black Phone, and Violet McGraw, whose credits include M3GAN, Black Widow and The Haunting of Hill House.

The sisters portray Charlotte and Willow, two quick-witted siblings vacationing in Las Vegas who unexpectedly find themselves caught in an elaborate jewelry heist. With a priceless diamond gauntlet at stake, they join forces with a former MI6 agent turned security guard to outsmart an international thief before Christmas.

The production combines elements of action, comedy and holiday adventure, with filmmakers describing the concept as a collision between Ocean’s Eleven and Home Alone.

Joining the McGraw sisters is Andrew Koji, whose credits include Warrior, Bullet Train and Snake Eyes. Koji portrays David, a former British intelligence operative whose quiet security job becomes anything but ordinary when the sisters pull him into their increasingly dangerous situation.

The ensemble also includes Azizi Donnelly as the film’s international thief, Jack Griffo of Nickelodeon’s The Thundermans, Brynne Kurland, Jesse La Flair, Nick Ricciardi, Preston Oliver and recording artist Struggle Jennings.

Adding a distinctly Las Vegas element to the film is Shin Lim, the two-time America’s Got Talent champion and resident headliner at The Palazzo Theatre at The Venetian Resort. Lim appears as himself, bringing his internationally recognized sleight-of-hand magic to the production.

A Hollywood Production Takes Over the Palms

Directed by Shaun Paul Piccinino, whose credits include Netflix’s A California Christmas and Lady Driver, the feature was written by John Ducey and produced through ESX Entertainment by Ali Afshar, Daniel Aspromonte and Christina Moore, with John Ducey also receiving a producer credit.

The McGraw sisters serve as executive producers alongside their mother, Jackie McGraw, giving the young actresses an additional role in bringing the project to the screen.

Behind the camera, cinematographer Brad Rushing led the film’s photography, with editing by Chance LaSalle and an original score composed by Jamie Christopherson. Additional production credits include casting directors Monica Kelly and Jennifer Treadwell, production designer Michael Cooper and costume designer Elizabeth Mintree-Jett.

Principal photography began in April 2025, with the Palms Casino Resort serving as the primary filming location.

The production utilized the resort for much of its casino-centered story, while additional filming took place at the historic Eldorado Canyon Mine outside Las Vegas, giving filmmakers access to an entirely different Southern Nevada environment.

The Palms played an especially significant role, providing the production with a functioning resort property and the operational support necessary to accommodate a feature film shoot.

Behind The Scenes Las Vegas visited the production during filming, speaking with members of the filmmaking team and getting an inside look at the work taking place throughout the property.

During BTSLV’s visit, producer Christina Moore praised the hospitality extended to the production by the Palms and the professionalism of Nevada’s film workforce.

“The local crews are top shelf. Way to go, Nevada.”

Her comments reflected an important part of the production’s presence in Las Vegas: the availability of experienced local filmmaking professionals capable of supporting productions operating at a national studio level.

The project also marked another Nevada-based feature for ESX Entertainment, the production company founded by Ali Afshar, which has established an extensive catalog of films through its relationship with Warner Bros. and other distributors.

From Las Vegas to the Warner Bros. Red Carpet

Following production and post-production, Double Trouble celebrated its Los Angeles premiere on September 26, 2026, at the Steven J. Ross Theatre on the Warner Bros. Studios lot in Burbank, California.

The evening brought together cast members, filmmakers and invited guests for a red carpet celebration followed by a special screening of the completed film.

Madeleine and Violet McGraw attended alongside director Shaun Paul Piccinino and co-stars Andrew Koji, Jack Griffo and Azizi Donnelly, among others.

For the McGraw sisters, the film represents an opportunity to step outside the horror genre that helped establish their careers and demonstrate their range in a more comedic, action-oriented production.

Speaking during the Los Angeles premiere, Madeleine discussed how refreshing it was to take on something different from her previous horror work, while Violet emphasized the experience of collaborating with her sister.

The real-life family relationship between the two performers also forms part of the film’s central appeal, giving the fictional sibling dynamic an authenticity that filmmakers were eager to explore.

Director Piccinino, whose previous work includes several holiday features, spoke about the importance of family relationships beneath the film’s action and comedy.

For a film involving an international thief, a valuable diamond, casino intrigue and elaborate action sequences, the relationship between the sisters remains at the center of the story.

Double Trouble Returns to Las Vegas

Now, following its Los Angeles debut, Double Trouble is coming back to the city where much of it was created.

A Las Vegas premiere is planned at Brenden Theatres inside the Palms Casino Resort, returning the film to the same property that served as its primary production location.

The film begins its limited theatrical release on Friday, October 9, 2026, with public screenings scheduled at Brenden Palms 14.

Distributed theatrically by Seismic Releasing, the PG-13 feature runs approximately 88 minutes and will introduce audiences to a holiday heist adventure with strong ties to Southern Nevada.

Beyond its entertainment value, the production represents another example of Las Vegas attracting narrative feature films that put local crews, locations and production resources to work.

The project also demonstrates how established resort properties can collaborate directly with filmmakers, providing access to environments that would otherwise require extensive construction or visual effects to recreate.

For Nevada’s growing film industry, projects like Double Trouble are particularly significant because they move beyond the city’s established reputation for commercials, unscripted television and live entertainment production.

They are narrative features employing filmmaking professionals, working with major entertainment companies and entering the national theatrical marketplace.

As Las Vegas continues working toward a more sustainable film and television production ecosystem, every completed feature adds to the city’s growing body of work.

And for the cast and crew of Double Trouble, there is something fitting about bringing the finished film back to the Palms.

More than a year after cameras began rolling, audiences will have the opportunity to watch a Hollywood production filmed in their own city, inside the same resort where the story first came to life.
