Las Vegas is experiencing a creative transformation, and its emerging fashion scene is beginning to attract attention far beyond Nevada. Among the independent designers helping lead that movement is SCATHED, a sustainable luxury fashion label founded by Aza Lethe, whose striking gothic designs challenge conventional ideas of beauty, individuality, and responsible fashion.
Blending dark romanticism with contemporary elegance, SCATHED creates garments that are as much artistic statements as they are clothing. Intricate lace, hand-beaded embellishments, dramatic silhouettes, and unconventional materials define a brand built around resilience, transformation, and self-expression.
For Lethe, inspiration comes from places many might overlook. Forgotten forests, ancient ruins, weathered coastlines, and quiet cemeteries influence her creative vision. Nature, mythology, and the delicate relationship between darkness and beauty provide the foundation for collections that feel simultaneously haunting and sophisticated.
Her artistic background began long before clothing design. Working with jewelry, beadwork, wire wrapping, macramé, and traditional loom weaving, Lethe developed an appreciation for meticulous craftsmanship that remains central to SCATHED today.
Behind The Scenes Las Vegas was first introduced to SCATHED in October 2025, when we received an invitation to the brand’s Dark Masquerade fashion show at Commonwealth in Downtown Las Vegas. What immediately captured our attention was the extraordinary level of artistry and attention to detail surrounding the entire experience.
Even the invitation was a work of art, arriving in the mail adorned with delicate black lace and an attached key that would grant its holder entry to the evening. Upon arrival, guests were immersed in an atmosphere of dark elegance, complete with an opera singer performing atop the staircase. Every element felt intentional, carefully orchestrated to transport attendees into the world of SCATHED.
The designs themselves were beautifully dark, but it was the combination of fashion, theatricality, and immersive storytelling that truly set the evening apart. This wasn’t simply a runway show. It was a fully realized artistic experience, demonstrating a level of showmanship that elevated the presentation into something unforgettable. Having witnessed that creative vision firsthand, it was an honor for BTSLV to be part of the experience once again in 2026.
This wasn’t simply a runway show. It was a fully realized artistic experience.
That same dedication to artistry has helped propel the Las Vegas label onto increasingly prominent stages.
In March 2026, SCATHED showcased its designs at Los Angeles Fashion Week, participating in Art Hearts Fashion’s runway presentations. September brought another significant milestone when the label made its New York Fashion Week debut, presenting ten looks from its Her Majesty; The Dead collection during a Flying Solo runway presentation overlooking Manhattan.
The brand has also attracted international editorial attention, including coverage associated with ELLE Slovenia, Fashion Week Online, Glamour Bulgaria, and KaltBlut Magazine. Its designs have appeared on red carpets and performers, including RuPaul’s Drag Race star Lexi Love.
Yet perhaps SCATHED’s most meaningful contribution is what happens back home in Las Vegas.
Rather than outsourcing production overseas, Lethe has committed to manufacturing locally, utilizing a solar-powered Nevada atelier and skilled local craftspeople. The brand emphasizes made-to-order production, limited quantities, and environmentally conscious materials, including cactus leather, recycled textiles, and eco-tulle.
SCATHED also promotes garment longevity through repair services and its Reincarnate program, which gives previously owned pieces another opportunity to be worn.
For a city historically recognized for its entertainment and hospitality industries, brands like SCATHED represent something important: the emergence of Las Vegas as a destination where original fashion is not simply showcased, but imagined, designed, and produced.
As Nevada’s independent creative community continues to evolve, Lethe’s success demonstrates that designers do not necessarily need to leave Las Vegas to build an internationally recognized identity.
SCATHED is creating more than clothing. It is building an artistic world of its own while helping establish a new creative identity for Las Vegas, one where craftsmanship, individuality, and unconventional beauty deserve a place on the world’s most prestigious runways.
